Perfume is more than fragrance. It’s memory. It’s energy. It’s a way to embody who you are and how you want to feel.
At ʻOhi ʻOhi, we don’t make perfume the conventional way. No alcohol. No synthetics. No overpowering top notes designed to fade fast. Instead, we infuse our oils with plants that grow here — in the soil of Kaua‘i — and we create blends that are both emotional and elemental.
Each bottle is handmade with intention, using two foundational plants that are dear to us:
🌿 The Heart of Our Perfumes: Laukahi & ʻIliahi
Laukahi (Plantago spp.)
This humble plant grows low to the ground, happy in pathways, grassy fields, and roadside patches. But in Hawaiian healing traditions, laukahi is a powerhouse — used for everything from wound healing to reducing inflammation and easing infections.
We infuse our kukui nut oil with leaves harvested from our garden, drawing out its soothing, skin-loving properties. But there’s something deeper too: Laukahi reminds us that our bodies are made to thrive and be in balance… our bodies are powerful and resilient. Laukahi reminds us to tend to ourselves. To root into the abundance that is our birth right.
ʻIliahi (Hawaiian Sandalwood, Santalum spp.)
ʻIliahi is the Hawaiian name for the native sandalwood tree. We don’t cut live trees to harvest it — instead, we respectfully search the forest floor for fallen branches with heartwood still intact. The sacred heartwood is where the scent is hidden. Justin chips the wood for me, and I slowly infuse it into our kukui oil.
ʻIliahi carries a grounding, anchoring frequency. It’s used in ceremony and prayer. It smells like the mountains, sweet and woody.
By using both laukahi and ʻiliahi as the base of every perfume, we start each blend with deep roots — in healing, land connection, and spiritual presence.
🌸 A Return to Scent as Ceremony
Most commercial perfumes are designed to grab attention — with loud top notes, chemical boosters, and a quick fade that keeps you coming back for more.
But our bodies don’t need more noise. They need support & stillness.
We believe perfume should feel like a ceremony. It should ground you before a gathering, soothe you before bed, spark memory, and help you come back to yourself throughout the day.
That’s why we only use:
- Organic cold pressed kukui nut oil from Hawai‘i
- Whole herbs grown in our garden or wild-gathered with respect
- Ethically sourced, organic essential oils
- Infusion techniques that honor the plant, the process, and the person
Each perfume is handcrafted in small batches, infused with intention and elevated through the energy practices I learned in my Reiki training — to raise the frequency and deepen the resonance of each blend.

- Use it when: You’re tending to grief, reconnecting to love, or calling in sweetness
🌹 Rose reminds us that softness is a strength. And that beauty doesn’t need to be loud to be powerful.
🧴 How to Use Our Perfumes
These perfumes are oil-based roll-ons. They’re gentle, intimate, and designed to blend with your body’s chemistry over time.
You can use them:
- As daily scent, rolled onto neck, wrists, or behind ears
- As energetic anointing — over your heart, third eye, or sacral
- Before meditation or journaling
- Before sleep to anchor peaceful dreams
- To mark transitions: work → rest, home → gathering, sorrow → joy
Think of it as a moment of pause. A breath. A return to your body.
🌀 How to Choose “Your” Blend
Don’t overthink it — just notice what you're drawn to.
Sometimes your spirit will call for the one that feels most like who you are. Other times, you’ll need the one that brings what’s missing.
Let them be medicine. Let them be guides. You don’t need to justify what calls you. Just listen.
🌙 Behind the Bottle: Our Creation Process
Every bottle is crafted by hand — with time, care, and reverence.
We harvest from our garden or wild-gather with the greatest respect. We slow-infuse herbs, letting the plants fully surrender to the oil. We use kukui nut oil — a traditional healing oil in Hawai‘i — because it nourishes the skin and holds scent beautifully.
Sometimes I blend in the quiet of early morning, when the house is still. Sometimes after my children fall asleep. Always when I am, myself, balanced and fully living from my heart. Every batch is small, and every bottle is touched with love.
This is not mass production. This is ceremony.
