I create all perfumes starting with two plants that are dear to my heart: Laukahi & 'Iliahi

Laukahi (Plantago spp.) is a plant used in Hawaiian Traditional Healing (La'au Lapa'au).  You can find this herb growing in the grass, happy and abundant. It's known to speed up wound healing and has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiulcerative, and antioxidative properties.

I chose to use laukahi in our perfume base for its skin healing properties, blessing up your skin as you roll on this perfume.

'Iliahi (Santalum spp.) is the Hawaiian name for our native sandalwood. When we go into the mountains of Kaua'i, we look for old dead 'Iliahi trees, and sometimes there are branches on the forest floor that still have the heartwood remaining. The dreamy scent of sandalwood is only found in the heartwood. Justin chips it up for me and we soak the chips in kukui nut oil. I chose to use 'Iliahi heartwood in all my perfumes mainly for its spiritual properties, as it symbolizes the sacredness of the heart center.
